Well, hi! You're back!
This is good, because today, I'm posting Noah's playlist. I wrote yesterday that I listened to different music to help fuel their scenes, and that Evolution is as much about Noah as it is about Mara.
What songs do YOU think he'd like? Are there any songs that remind you of him, or of Mara?
Simple Song - The Shins
Free Fallin' - Tom Petty
Little Talks - Of Monsters and Men
Night Moves - Bob Seger
The Lengths - The Black Keys
I Will Follow You Into The Dark - Death Cab for Cutie
OD - Ed Tullett
Silver Drive - Ed Tullett
Close Your Eyes - Young Love
It's Been Awhile - Staind
Save Yourself - Stabbing Westward
Use Somebody - Kings of Leon
Wicked Game - James Vincent McMorrow
Love Interruption - Jack White
The Bad In Each Other - Feist
Solid Sender - John Lee Hooker
You're The One - The Black Keys
Feeling Good - Nina Simone
Chasing Cars (Acoustic) - Snow Patrol
Light Outside - Wakey!Wakey!
Can't Help Falling in Love - Ingrid Michaelson
The Crane Wife 3 - The Decembrists
Mountain Man - Crash Kings
We Don't Eat - James Vincent McMorrow
Gold On The Ceiling - The Black Keys
You adding that Wakey!Wakey! song to a Noah playlist made me crazy happy since it's one of my favorite songs. I don't have a song, but something about The Narrative really fits the books for me. It's more the feel of the songs than the words that fit for me.
ReplyDeleteLove Wakey!Wakey!
DeleteThat's what I was thinking. Also I knew that someone who writes these amazing books just has to have awesome taste in music. Wakey!Wakey! is THE proof!
DeleteSail by AWOLNATION makes me think about both Noah and Mara. Not sure why, it just does.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking that!
DeleteAnd Love is blindness by U2
ReplyDeleteiris by the goo goo dolls, shelter by the xx, fix you by coldplay, you are a tourist death cab for cutie
ReplyDeleteLove those songs ;) Great taste!
DeleteLove me some Black Keys.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me think Noah and I would get along splendidly :D
ReplyDeleteHave you heard the exogenesis symphony by muse? I HIGHLY recommend giving it a listen.
ReplyDeleteI haven't, but I'm about to! Thanks for the rec!
DeleteOH YEAHHH! I was thinking about fix you by coldplay too
ReplyDeleteWhat music did you listen to while writing scenes where it involved both of them equally?
ReplyDeleteHey Anon! So, mostly, those scenes were written to:
DeleteLittle Talks - Of Monsters and Men
I Will Follow You Into The Dark - Death Cab for Cutie
Save Yourself - Stabbing Westward
The Bad In Each Other - Feist
Wow...so my taste in music is alittle different but I was thinking together again by evanescence, and mainly cinematic type songs...hmmm...*shrugs* to eachs own
ReplyDeleteI have to say I just finished reading "evolution" while listening to Olafur Arnalds, who write instrumental music, and it seemed to fit most of the book perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI love the song can't help falling in love By Ingrid Michelson, so funny that you picked it!! After thinking about the lyrics I totally understand why you chose it!!!
